I hate the puns. It was very difficult to unlock
Confusing for visitors well let them in. I donโt give visitors the code or keys anyways millions of people donโt run a air bnb lol ๐
If you have a regular lock and a deadbolt several inches above it, the deadbolt won’t be able to cover both lock holes, right? So you leave the regular knob in place and just put a smart lock where the old deadbolt was?
THE NUMBER 1 FEATURE I NEED IS LOCK RELIABILITY 0 SERVICE CALLS IN FIRST FIVE YEARS. TELL ME ABOUT THAT. THANKS.
hi im lanz
Any recommendations on interior door handle locks (not deadbolt, to replace interior turn handles…)
Z-Wave < Wifi 100% . Helpful info for finding one that doesn’t need a hub .. thank you ๐ ..

Skip the Lockly from anywhere you’d buy it as a "normal consumer". You want the 728Z version that has Z-wave. It’s a little hard to find but worth it. And the Locklys are LPL approved. ๐
The people at Lowe’s say they get many of the Yale locks returned.
Great reviews! And that little skit at the end, OPENED my mind to a new way thinking ๐
Also, Which of the Schlage locks have the longest battery life & why?
There is a big issue with the Yale Assure 2 Z-Wave:
"This product will not work outside of the U.S. or Canada."
I don’t know what someone has to fuck up when designing a smart lock to make it only work in two countries, but I guess they managed to do it.
WHERE’S THE PUN TALLY????
If anyone is considering Nest x Yale: donโt!
When you use it you have maybe 30 days or so before it whines about low battery for the next 6 months. Only way around it is to use disposable batteries.
Iโve had the LOCKLY lock for 6 years now and it has been great, only problem Iโve had is my fingerprint scanner stopping working years ago, and LOCKLY canโt figure at why, so they stopped assisting me with it. Otherwise it is great with all the features
You’ve confirmed I made the right decision 10 years ago! I have 3 zwave Schlage Connect locks and LOVE them.. we’re building a new house now and I bought 2 more for it because it’s worked so well.. Great battery life too. One comment – You mentioned that it’s tough to manage temporary codes? I have mine in hubitat, and I manage all the codes through the lock code manager, and I can manage which codes work on which locks, set time/day of week limitations, etc, and it automatically updates the locks. I have even added codes when away from home and it has worked great. Not sure what it could do better!
What z wave hub do you use ?
Bolt to the finish line with style.
All of the links are locked away (๐+1) in the description!
Kwickset is the best affordable too.
Very cool video and informative video I enjoyed watching it. It would be cool to see a smart lock for the rental home-friendly to see your take on that point of view and more. ๐
No interest in the Philips Wi-Fi Smart Door lock?
Dont be a dork ๐
Will these work if the Internet goes down? ๐ค

All bad choices
Any one that support thread
I recommend the "Yale Doorman classic L2" because it isnt loud and its very fun to use, if u desire u can turn off the sounds it makes like the beeps when clicking on the numbers, i hope i helped someone find the lock they want.
Don’t buy any Chinese spy crappy locks.
The review is good but the cringe jokes are lame. Could do without
Never connect your safety elements of your home security to the internet!!! That is just asking formit!!!
what help or additional features are provided if you match a Schlage connec with Winkhub2? thanks
Last year I installed some new Baldwin locksets on my house. Internally, they are identical to the Quickset locks that you reviewed. The shiny parts are what is different and what make them so much more expensive. They are gorgeous though. I mostly agree with your comments with a few exceptions.
They are noisy
The key is a great feature if your batteries go dead while you are locked out. The key mechanism can make it a brain scratcher to get it working correctly, It needs to be mechanically aligned with the motor drive and is not explained well in the manual.
The two extra digits when unlocking (spreads out the finger prints) don’t bother me as I usually unlock and disarm with my phone using Honeywell Total Connect.
The small screws that hold on the inside cover are optional (RTFM). If you install them, no one can easily mess with the lock settings. You would also need to remove them when changing batteries. I left mine out.
These locks are my favorite Home Automation feature. When I go out and turn on the alarm (with my phone), all of the doors are locked. When I disarm the alarm, the back door is unlocked. I almost never user the keypad or keys.

Do not use Yale locks! I have an AirBandB and used these locks. They worked for a few months and suddenly stopped working the day a guest was checking in to my home. I was 2 hours away. I had to get a lock smith come out and charge $400 to break the lock. Yale refuses to help other than offering to replace the lock with another of their lock which I have zero confidence in
If Samsung is not on this list…..then it’s not the right product review. Having lived in Korea for 8 years…..smart locks are the only things used by the majority.
What happens if the WiFi goes out?๐Are you locked out?
Really good video,
thank you for the information
Why are Android phones not recognized while Apple phones are? Come on lock companies.
Can you connect these locks to a home power source instead of battery?
Is there a lock that if you put in the code in April for the code to work it has to be your fingerprint so is someone else posting the correct password it won’t work if they don’t got your fingerprint ๐ค
Another question. For the Schlage smart locks with a mechanical key, are the rekeyable to your other locks on your home? Also are any other of the smart home locks you reviewed rekeyable to a kwikset or Schlage? ;thanks
For doors with a window, are there any with double key deadbolts?
Amazing information! Encode plus it is!
You want them to be loud. He gets that wrong, so i am assuming he doesnโt have one installed at his home. The newer Schlage is much more quiet and itโs not easy to audibly verify the door locked properly.
STAY AWAY FROM LOCKLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
iPhone users 12:13 over $300 and not many 1 star reviews but they are scary and some of the 5 star reviews appear fake.
Can someone tell me if any of these locks will open from a distance? I am in a wheelchair and Iโm looking for a lock that will open if I cannot get to the door inside the apartment any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
