Have you thought about adding films on the glass to slow people down if they tried to force entry ? Also what about a safe room for the inner defence

We live a mile from the George Floyd incident, and never felt the need o do any of this. Weird.

I have two of the perimeter alarms; plan on disguising one in front yard as a birdhouse, with solar panel as the roof.

I’m still undecided if I like the intruder hearing the chime or not… 🤔

The micro usb availability is great, too. I can use these while car camping as well!
    Great video

I take offense at the idea of drone surveillance. I’m swatting that stuff out of the sky on principle

  9. @DrunknOdin on March 7, 2025 at 3:40 pm

Can you add multiple receivers so that I can get alerts in various parts of the house?

You would think someone could develop something using a laser. That would reach far. Easy to setup and simply alert when it’s broken..

    Wireless systems are not secure!

  17. @spurcrawler249 on March 7, 2025 at 3:52 pm

My only suggestion is place the sensors closer to the choke points. You want the sensor placed closer to the corner of the house coming up the side. Also, additional “random red lights” that light up once additional sensors are triggered is an amazing deterrent: you kinda want them to know they’ve triggered it as a deterrent.

If you take security serious , get 2 dogs preferably a Rottweilers or German Shepherd .

  19. @lucious455 on March 7, 2025 at 3:53 pm

Wt hell so much security for what .

All you need is my neighbor julia.
She is the surveillance system of the neighborhood Bitch knows about everything that moves in town .

Ezviz is also a good option for wired camera its wifi camera so no nvr needed just power and has quick response and no hibernation delay like arlo because its mains powered

I live in a rural area, work nights and want to have an alert sent to my phone when there is motion near my cabin. I can’t seem to find a system that I can actively monitor and alerts me to anyone coming up. Preferably no subscription and no tapping into the power. Any suggestions? Anyone? Thanks.

If you had that security and no boundary wall in South Africa you would be dead already. We need electric fences and beams when we talk about security.

  32. @samueladams584 on March 7, 2025 at 4:09 pm

It’s so hard to find yard sensors w flashing lights with the option to turn off sound alerts. I have cameras, just want outdoor motion sensors ….. any suggestions are appreciated

  33. @serialshitposter186 on March 7, 2025 at 4:11 pm

You should look in to an Ajax alarm system, i have it installed and it is really good. They even have outdoor detectors with cameras sending alerts to your phone immediately with a photo, and when all connection goes down it still can use a simcard. A newer model also offers antimasking so if it becomes obstructed, it will sound the alarm. You can arm and disarm it when needed so no unplugging is needed. You can also add wireless sirens and other things to it.

  34. @desperadopharaoh2361 on March 7, 2025 at 4:12 pm

Be careful with wireless arlo’s & eufy cams theives are now using wifi cell jammers to disable cameras so u can’t see them coming

  35. @nicog3583 on March 7, 2025 at 4:13 pm

Doing it at night is useless. Pyroelectric detectors (Motion Detectors) detect heat and motion. There could be issues with sunlight, but in theory they should work the same day or night.

  36. @galactic25 on March 7, 2025 at 4:14 pm

Can the alerts be programmed to go to a smart phone?

  37. @joshua01 on March 7, 2025 at 4:15 pm

Eufy might be a better alternative to arlo

another overlooked early detection system.gravel.try walking silently over crunchy gavel and you will see the value immediately.

  40. @diyoregonnowtexas9202 on March 7, 2025 at 4:22 pm

How do you know what motion sensor is activated? Those chimes would drive me nuts.

  41. @Wulfrune on March 7, 2025 at 4:23 pm

A strategically placed Smartwater ( or make your own ) spraying system maybe using Raspberry Pi should ruin anyones day, because once you’ve sprayed them, it’s a pain to remove.

  42. @swamivandermerwe on March 7, 2025 at 4:24 pm

Excellent advice, Try out the Ajax alarm system, it works online and offline with its wireless sirens, one indoor siren and a big outdoor loud siren…so if long poweroutage and no internet..the ajax has 15 hrs on battery with the Hub and Hub 2. Enough for nightime of 9 hrs is sufficient. Fully sim card and wifi online service when power and cellular is working too..so both for perfect conditions and in totall blackout without cellular it still alerts you internally. All ajax has wireless and uses batteries that last 2 years plus.

I’m out here in Africa and I’m interested in the perimeter alarm

The trouble is we also have dogs for security so how could I work this without the dogs tripping the system

  47. @greyballer1671 on March 7, 2025 at 4:30 pm

Get steel door in steel frames (about 750$) that open out, not in. Cant kick that in, period. They have to pull the door out by the knob…good luck with that. Or cut the hinges off

  48. @martylynchian8628 on March 7, 2025 at 4:31 pm

  50. @michaelkennedy2528 on March 7, 2025 at 4:32 pm

Literally everything you had setup in this video can be done much more efficiently with better security cameras. I literally have 35.00 cameras that do the perimeter monitoring through the security camera software Blueiris. It can be configured to easily setup line crossing and it works day and night with HUGE amounts of pre-warning someone is approaching the "secured area". Rather than having all these battery or solar operated things about the property just use good camera software. I can tell you now, that when birds do the #2 on those solar panels for the perimeter sensors, it diminishes the recharging capacity significantly, and then it becomes useless. You have to constantly maintain these items, whereas the camera(s) are under the eaves, out of the way of bird bombs and they do ALL of what you described in this video. The cameras can even be shared with the local police and the neighborhood watch you mentioned, no need for all the items you use in this video.
