    Thank you thank you

  2. @CptClpnCheeks on December 16, 2024 at 7:36 pm

Why cant it be as simple as plugging and ether net cable (that’s plugged into your main modem) into a device that then emits a strong WiFi signal from that device since it’s connected to and ether net cable. 😫

  3. @VisualDima on December 16, 2024 at 7:36 pm

I have a cheap repeater (similar to image in this video). Same ssid as main router WiFi. Connection is faster than phone can chew. Devices switching networks if moved in house automaticaly. What I’m doing wrong? 🙂

  4. @schneek.p.1291 on December 16, 2024 at 7:37 pm

They just dont know how to use wifi extender LMAO

  5. @leet-kitty-catface on December 16, 2024 at 7:37 pm

I bought a wifi range extender for my friend so he could connect his dreamcast broadband adapter to his home network wirelessly since the dreamcast can’t do wifi on its own.

  6. @johnleonard9102 on December 16, 2024 at 7:38 pm

So if I’m just trying to get wifi to reach my garage camera, I should ignore your advice and buy a range extender. Got it.

  7. @omerrr3765 on December 16, 2024 at 7:39 pm

Doesn’t really matter what you use as long as you’re connecting the devices through a LAN cable

  8. @BingQiLing. on December 16, 2024 at 7:43 pm

Needing to manually switch WiFi takes like 2 seconds its not that big of a deal unless youre running around your house with your phone for whatever reaaon

  9. @PaulVarricchione on December 16, 2024 at 7:43 pm

Very informative. I wasn’t fully aware of how the wireless signals worked before this. I won’t be buying an extender. You rock.

  10. @jaimecastelltort3679 on December 16, 2024 at 7:44 pm

I mean, AP for mobile devices will be the same as an range extender. You will need to manually switch to the extender ssid. So, there is no cheap solution to have Wifi to cover an entire place without manually connecting to AP if you don’t use mesh

  11. @EdenVI on December 16, 2024 at 7:44 pm

Wireless cameras on the outside of house with weak signal.
£60 for an extender that uses the same SSID vs a £400 mesh system.
    The extender worked perfectly.

I trust a chubby nerd with long hair more than anyone else when it comes to tech. This is how I know I’m getting good info

  13. @Cybercop7156 on December 16, 2024 at 7:45 pm

    Great video

  14. @mthokospear6915 on December 16, 2024 at 7:47 pm

For me the extender works wonders 😅

  15. @rapmeister1000 on December 16, 2024 at 7:48 pm

Watching this, because I’ve discovered that my range extender sucks. It keeps losing the signal no matter what I do.

  16. @Elate2093 on December 16, 2024 at 7:50 pm

My phone literally has an option to switch to the strongest signal its just a toggle in settings

  17. @BM5556 on December 16, 2024 at 7:50 pm

so basicly, if I want good connection, i have to be rich, got it.

  18. @deadturret4049 on December 16, 2024 at 7:51 pm

I have one in my house because for some reason, bell set up our modem in the friggin basement. It’d make more sense to have it upstairs but there would have to be some rewiring done.

My extender is upstairs somewhere where the signal is still good so it can reach the rest of the house. I live in the basement, and the folks upstairs dont have a good reason to disconnect from their extender. I’d prefer to add access points but the extender works for what I need.

  19. @spyware1100 on December 16, 2024 at 7:52 pm

I want wireless solution :/ Seems like the extender is the only option.
And for me, wireless means: No cable, no drilling, no conmlicated setup. Yet mesh router’s setup first step is "Connect RJ45 CABLE to first device"… f_ck, if i wanted cables i wouldn’t need a wireless connetcion in the first place 😀

  20. @rinkutachi on December 16, 2024 at 7:54 pm

    Kinda dumb advice, isn’t it?

  21. @Flamerion on December 16, 2024 at 7:54 pm

TLDW pay a "little" more than a range extender to get better signal.

  22. @cosmicheretic8129 on December 16, 2024 at 7:57 pm

Poor advice unfortunately. They have use cases and work brilliantly if configured properly. For example I rent and have no access to the router and can get high speeds and good coverage using a WiFi 6 extender. They have come a long way over the years.

  23. @EliHank on December 16, 2024 at 7:57 pm

    They’re my only option

  24. @faizanbaber on December 16, 2024 at 7:59 pm

Instructions unclear! So don’t upgrade to $10 extender, spend a 1000 on upgrading your mesh network and put considerable amount of man power

  25. @ttttttassssss on December 16, 2024 at 8:02 pm

    Thank You. This helped me.

  26. @robertheron7017 on December 16, 2024 at 8:05 pm

My grans WiFi is crap it’s fine down stairs but upstairs even with a booster it’s still crap, she needs to get better internet pure and simple.

  27. @petyu3908 on December 16, 2024 at 8:08 pm

Mesh Router vs. Wireless Access Point

  28. @Balaboomeemee on December 16, 2024 at 8:08 pm

None single speech is helpful……. SMH

  29. @Lobos222 on December 16, 2024 at 8:09 pm

These are not good as extenders, but with an Ethernet port on the device and wired to another PC or similar they work well as "get internet to that room that does not have a connection", like apartment next door.

  30. @YT__STC on December 16, 2024 at 8:09 pm

I am watching it on the toilet

  33. @MiyubiTheSloth on December 16, 2024 at 8:10 pm

thats the purpose of Mesh. This garbage "WIFI EXTENDER" is just a trash scammer sht

  34. @BluBallBagin on December 16, 2024 at 8:11 pm

My cousin lives in a bus outside the range of the Wi-Fi he used an Ethernet cord but could only get 10mb because the router is garbage but when he’s connected to the Wi-Fi he’s getting 200+mb he can’t access the router settings so we decided to use a rage extender to give him some mediocre wifi but now he can use the Ethernet normally for 100+ mbs

  35. @purplel12515 on December 16, 2024 at 8:12 pm

I have a wifi extender and it sucks, it always disconnects from wifi and I get very low mbps

  36. @robp.3920 on December 16, 2024 at 8:13 pm

    Nah, stay with extenders…

  37. @jankolwalski6979 on December 16, 2024 at 8:13 pm

this is one of most dumbest video on yt… but hey , dumb content make dumb persons…

  38. @tomcruise7095 on December 16, 2024 at 8:20 pm

I would have great wifi if you didnt stand in front of it… PHATS

  39. @bigtylee on December 16, 2024 at 8:20 pm

Extenders obviously work great for a lot of folks applications, including mine. Good click bate tho🤷🏾‍♂️

  40. @balamuralikrishna6082 on December 16, 2024 at 8:21 pm

Can you please do a video on easy mesh configuration which is cross OEM compatible?

  41. @rayclam8079 on December 16, 2024 at 8:22 pm

Can I use my neighbours wifi with this? I have thier password.

  42. @WPGinterceptor460Interceptor on December 16, 2024 at 8:22 pm

WRONG.. a range Ext works from a wireline from your router to the extender! a wifi repeator works wirelessly like at 00:40! learn before you spread misinformation!!

  43. @garyatkinson5699 on December 16, 2024 at 8:25 pm

My router is upstairs my fire stick is downstairs what should I buy?

  44. @philstevens9914 on December 16, 2024 at 8:28 pm

I have a major problem with all of these videos. I have a major problem with even manufacturer’ instructions to set up. Send an ethernet cable directly to it from your wireless modem and problem is solved, is it not? That said, it is more difficult to set up.

  45. @pxpq on December 16, 2024 at 8:29 pm

wait, what? i thought this guy became "emily," what happened?

  46. @stickman3400Z on December 16, 2024 at 8:29 pm

2:52 if someone is debating whether to spend like 15 bucks on a wifi extender, they obviously can’t afford to get a really good wifi router. how out of touch can you be

  47. @ricardofranco4114 on December 16, 2024 at 8:31 pm

Ill just hook everything up to ethernet.

  48. @Nienna_Surion on December 16, 2024 at 8:31 pm

… my issue is « a think wall » making wifi weak in a room in a certain area… so that device could like… be mid way and then making so the signal can avoid the wall…

    What do you think?

  49. @CookieMunchiesOfficial on December 16, 2024 at 8:31 pm

Just a note: a simple and cheap range extender can be a _decent_ option if the goal is to extend your signal to a static, non-demanding (as in does not need snappy fast speeds) device, like f.ex. an outdoor WiFi camera that is just beyond decent range from your main router.

Sure you’ll get a delay of one, maybe a couple of seconds on notifications and live view if you can live with that, but at least the signal to the camera is good.

In my home this was the difference between a camera with, at best, a bad connection (always in red) + regular signal losses, and a camera with the connection now always in the green.

Motion detection is handled locally so there is no delay on recording and lighting.

Sure, an AP or a better router or mesh would still be preferred but hey, 47 bucks for a dedicated extender for 1 device if that’s all it needs is a good deal.

I couldn’t disagree more. I had a unique situation during covid where we needed wifi in the basement of our building to vaccinate patients in the car park. Given our clinic was on the 3rd floor that made it tricky, we weren’t about to drop a 50m Cat6 down the stair well. Two well place repeaters from our waiting room down the stairs to a temporary desk in the car park worked a treat.
If there were other options, we would, in some cases, there simply is not.
