had one of those t hey were great but the screen was pretty low rez but that was back in 2006 so i guess for the price and the size of the screen thats about as best as you could do haha. totally crazy to think how far we come since then and that i spent nearly 300 BUCKS on this thing when now you can get somthing simular for like 50 with a better screen! i think the low res screen was what really held it back but due to the time i think could not have been higher quality without costing even more.

Too bad that you need creative’s software to put videos on it. At least on my Creative Zen that was the case. It converts it to it’s own proprietary WMV format. Or is it different with this one ?

Devices like this still exist, made by no-name companies and sold cheaply (~$70), but you can only watch your own content on it. You can’t watch major streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc., because those are only supported by big-name devices like iPhone, Galaxy, or Roku. You can still buy a budget device from a major company that supports those services.

I love these retro stuff too. Really wanted these things back in the days but was too poor to afford any.
BTW you can disassemble the battery and replace the lithium cells inside. You can find cheap cells of all shapes and sizes on aliexpress. I found a brand called "liter energy battery“ to be quite reliable. They are universal 3.7v cells. Usually if a battery has 3 pins then one of the is used for temperature monitoring(ipod classic). In this case it has 4 pins I am not sure.
